Ekonomisk hållbarhet - introduktion

Now we're moving on from sustainability in nature to examine how we can create and maintain a sustainable society.

Here's a short film to start us thinking:

Projekt 1: Hållbarhet i naturen

Våra första projekt är kort och det är upp till individer att välja att arbeta själv eller ihop med en eller två personer.

Mål: Att upptäcka och dela med andra några intressanta exempel av organisation i naturen.

"Organisation" i det här projektet är ett stort begrepp - allt som lyckas existera för en stund och som visar  komplexitet och stabilitet - t.ex. solsystemet, en fisk, ett träd, tarmbakterie... oändliga möjligheter har ni och jag hoppas att alla välja olika sorts exempel!

"Naturen" är också ett stort begrepp - allt ifrån molekyl, virus, mikroorganism upp till stjärnor - men inget som är tillverkat av människor.

Obs! Innan fredag 11 september, berätta för klassen vad ditt projekt ska handla om genom att logga in på FirstClass och lämna ett meddelande i vår konferens - "Hag A-global 2015-2016" . Om du har svårt att komma in till FirstClass, skicka ett mejl till hagabergglobalprofil@folkbildning.net

Visit to Tom Tits experiment - Tuesday 15th September* New date!!!

Tuesday 15th September, Sofia has booked tickets for Tom Tits Experiment in Södertälje.

08:45 - Meet up in our classroom
09:30 - Walk to Tom Tits
10:00 - Tom Tits opens
14:00 - Walk back to Hagaberg (or home)

You will need:

* suitable clothes (some experiments are performed outside)
* Gordon's and/or classmate's phone number (in case you get separated from us)
* food and drink

If you want to save some money, bring your own lunch and snacks. If you want an expensive treat, there's a really nice restaurant on the premises.

Make sure you eat some breakfast and keep up your energy levels - we'll be doing a lot of experiments and really using our brains!

Homemade microscope 2

We're also working on this project:

It has involved a lot of measuring, sawing, drilling, swearing, trial and error and fun.

The inventor of this microscope claims it just takes 20 minutes to build. Yeah, right...

Drills and saws were in short supply, but thankfully our class members abound in a spirit of cooperation and sharing!

Only one student actually managed to complete the microscope by the end of class but she only got it to work for about a nanosecond before the image went out of focus.

We're talking very fine tolerances when drilling a hole for the lens and positioning it just right.

So the building and testing continues - watch this space...
